The New Royal London Hospital
The new Royal London Hospital opened today.
I wonder if the Labour Ward is still named after Marie Celeste?

About This Blog
What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.

Some of it – eg A&E and ITU – has been open for more than two months. I know this because a friend of mine died there just after Christmas.

Sorry to hear about your friend.
I put in the post because I wanted to highlight the curiously named Labour Ward. Do they put mothers in there and leave them. My granddaughter was actually born there and the treatment was exceptional, but we all laughed at the ward name. Nobody seems to know why it is called thus and there is no information on the Internet I can find about both the ward’s and the ship’s name.
