No Engineeering Works on the Underground This Weekend!
I wondered where the board with the information was yesterday, as I travelled on the Underground to and from Euston.
But it wasn’t needed!
I suppose someone thought about all the Jubilee traffic.
or the cost of paying the engineers double time! Not that I am cynical!

I think you are being cynical. If you saw the documentary on the Tube and especially the episodes about maintenance, you would have a different opinion.

TOC . . . I came across this on a Government Infrastucture Project : TOC = Total Outcome Costs.
In Maintenance, TOC applies. It is Cheaper & Better to Pay Maintenance Crews overtime {including Double time} . . . than to delay hundreds of thousands for days at a time and incur massive costs day after day.
Hence all Maintenance is looked at with TOC in mind . . . some jobs can be done during off-peak periods, and others are only minutes at a time . . . and must be done in Peak Periods {Safety or unavoidable} . . .
