Thoughts On Labour’s Next Leader

What the Labour Party hasn’t realised is that the electorate has changed radically over the last twenty years. More of us have gone to University and everybody now has much better grasp of the issues facing the country. Even if they are getting on in years or not very politically informed, they have a friend or relative who understands the complex issues. So gradually the electorate is realising that the old philosophies of both left and right don’t work.

To be fair, Blair realised this, but he got quite a few things wrong. None of the candidates to lead Labour has any radical vision for the future, that solves our real problems. The major one being to get enough money into the coffers to fund the NHS and the infrastructure to support an increasing population.

On the other hand, the Tories are prepared to think what to many is unthinkable, like a sensible minimum wage, same-sex marriage, welfare reform, easing planning restrictions and getting our finances in order.

So which of these very poor candidates wins, they will only be the captain as the good ship Labour Party sinks below the waves. If they’re still in charge at the 2020 election, They have as much chance of winning, as I have of being the next Pope.
