The New Underground Station Entrance At Euston Station
The entrance to Euston Underground station has been moved to the piazza outside station.
It appears there have been two objectives.
- To create more seating space in the cramped main station.
- To separate travellers walking to and from the Underground from those standing in the station forecourt.
Compared to Kings Cross, London Bridge and Waterloo, Euston has rather complicated pedestrian flows, which hopefully will be simplified, when the station is rebuilt for High Speed Two.

This entrance will have tge benefit in tge short term of allowing access to the Underground without entering the main line Station during hours of night tube operation. While longer term it provides access to the underground when closure of Euston Mainline Station occurs something that has already occurred for advanced works for HS2 and will become more regular as work advances .
I notice that unlike the upgraded entrance to Waterloo Station via the Shell Centre Development there is protruding roofing outside the entrance for weather protection.
