Walking To Liverpool Street Station
I took these pictures yesterday, as I walked from my home to Liverpool Street station.
I had intended to buy the latest edition of Modern Railways at W H Smith’s in the station, but it was shut.

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.
What a delight to see London (almost) car-free – long may that side-effect of coronavirus continue!

Good exercise ! I think all WH Smith’s are shut now, although they tried to argue they were essential. I have subscribed to Modern Railways for many years. Did you realise that if you buy it (or indeed any magazine) from a shop or newsagent, a substantial proportion of the cover charge goes to the retailer (from memory around 30%). So I subscribe partly because it seems better for the publisher to get my money. Another rail magazine Today’s Railways UK – the most readable in my opinion – has suspended publication during the virus lockdown
