Someone sent me this picture and asked if I knew where it was.
I don’t But do I know a man or woman who does?

About This Blog
What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.

I think it is a subway at a major railway station. The lower sections of the roof are where the track runs overhead.
It looks a bit like Reading, which has a bend at the end, but it is not the current colour scheme, however the tiling was replaced during the upgrade during the teens.

I can’t put my finger on it but it’s familiar and definitely a pedestrian subway at a railway station. My travel generally has included Clapham Junction, Waterloo, Victoria, Euston

If you look carefully at the roof/ceiling, the nearest part reduces the height by 3 ft or so and consistent with the drop from a platform down to rail level.
But then it looks like the ceiling continues at the same level until there is a further drop in height.
So maybe we have a station where the running lines are at 2 different heights.
And then I thought of Blackfriars Thameslink level. Are the through tracks down to Holborn at a lower level compared to the terminating platforms, in which case we might be looking west with an end turn to the south.

Fantastic, I knew it was familiar. It’s actually Friary Passage.
I live in Guildford and although I have passed by the entrance to it many times, I have only walked through it probably half a dozen times in the 30 odd years that I’ve lived here. It’s the passage way between Guildford Wharf by the River Wey and the pedestrianised Friary Street, clearly not under a railway as I’d assumed.
