England And Australia Draw T20 Series After Washout

The title of this post, is the same as that of this article on the BBC.

This is the sub-heading.

England and Australia’s T20 series ended in a draw after the third match at Old Trafford was washed out.

This is the first paragraph.

Heavy rain throughout the day in Manchester prevented any play and the series ends 1-1.

Who was the idiot, who decided to have a series decided, in a city, where it always rains?

It’s not bright in London, but they could have had a game in my road.

  1. As a Manchester resident and a member of LCCC I have to say that the ground is an excellent pitch in a superb venue in a first class city. It does rain here, but England won a test at Old Trafford in August and I attended a day of it when perhaps an hour was lost to a shower.

The real question is why did the ECB idiotically arrange to play important international matches in May and September (even one in Chester le Street after the equinox) and fixture their gimmicky execreble “Hundred” matches in the warmer and drier high summer months?

Of course weather is fickle: –
“Five days, zero balls bowled – Afghanistan v NZ washed out.

The match in the Indian city of Greater Noida became just the eighth men’s Test in history to be abandoned without any play. Persistent rain across the five days led to the abandonment, with days three, four and five all called off because of overnight rain.
