Zebra Crossings are Killing Zones
They seem to have one purpose in Greece. And that is to tempt pedestrians to get in the road, so they can be knocked over. Luckily, I’ve not been hit, but I do use routes that avoid crossing the road directly.
The Sun is Healing Me
I’ve now had four days of reasonable sunshine and I can feel my body repairing itself.
Strangely the closer to the brain, my pain is, it seems to go away first. My face and tooth pain improved, followed by my arm and hand, then the bottom of my spine and my left leg. None of these injuries were stroke related, but after the stroke I got a lot of pain in old injuries. Perhaps the stroke ruined the wiring and the sun-induced vitamins are creating new pathways.
I don’t know, as I’m no expert.
But my typing is certainly better since I’ve been in Greece.
The Good Ship Artemis
The two nights I’ve been on Syros, they’ve parked a ferry called Artemis outside to make me feel at home.
It left early both mornings.
Manana in Greece
I tweeted this.
My supper has finally arrived and it’s very good. You know there’s no translation of manana as it’s too urgent for Greece.
I’d waited some time for it. But as I said it was worth it.
Greek Salads on Syros
They all seem to have capers. Much nicer!
Smoking in Greece
You can’t seem to get away from it. Even in restaurants, where it’s illegal.
No wonder the economy here is in trouble. They spend too much time smoking.
Greek Taxis
I’ve had a couple of dodgy bills today, which were on the high side.
But one actually charged me correctly and refused a tip. Is this a record?
Greek Restaurant Bills
Greek restaurant bills are really simple. They give you a printed tally on the table and then you pay in cash when you leave, adding a tip if you want.
Very simple and seems to work, providing you don’t want to use a card.
Not seen any plate smashing though!
Are Cats Taking over the World?
It would seem so on Syros. There were a lot last time and there are more now! Most seem well fed. But are there any bords and rodents left?
