Pea Therapy

I have my son and his friend to lunch today.  I’ve just been shelling peas, which is something that I haven’t done since I was a child.

It seemed to be good therapy for my bad left hand!

  1. Lovely getting fresh peas, I’m sure you’ll have a marvellous lunch. Did you get a good gravy recipe? I’m not very good with gravy I’m afraid.

  2. The peas weren’t that good, but it was the only low point. The best peas I had were some that were diverted between the viner and the Bird’s Eye factory, when we lived in the middle of pea country.

I’m not a great lover of peas, as C didn’t like things like broccoli, cabbage, broad beans and cauliflower. So it was always peas for supper! After she died, my cholesterol rose as I wasn’t eaiting enough soluble fibre. So I now eat aot of baked beans to make up.

The dog is also pleased, as she’ll get the remainder of the flesh off the chicken.
