A Sad Tale from India
I received a message this morning, which looked like spam, but it was informing me about a little girl, called Pooja, who has been rescued by the Police in Kerala from kidnappers.
It would appear to be genuine as it is mentioned on the Kerala Police web site and in other blogs.
Even if they don’t find Pooja’s parents, it just shows how the Internet might be able to help.
Poor little girl – the internet can indeed help with this sort of things, however, once the information is out on the web, it will do the rounds for years and years. Some of the stuff I get from people, particularly those relating to seriously sick children most of whom live in US, they are so out of date, sometimes years out of date, so that the child in question has either recovered or died. I do know people who spend hours on a website called Caring Bridge – http://www.caringbridge.org/ and find sad stories and pass them on to everyone on their (usually vast) address list.

It does appear to be genuine and sad and it looks like India is really trying to sort it out.
