More on Stehen Hester and That Bonus

He is a rich man in his own right.  If I was him, I’d tell the stupid politicians I didn’t want the bonus, resign and tell them, where to put their job. I would know that I’d done a good job and could take my pick of a lot of well-paid jobs out there.

If that happened, it would cost all the UK Taxpayers even more and who would most politicians blame.  David Cameron and the Tory members of this current government, who have nothing to do with this mess. RBS was such a state in 2010, that it should have been liquidated. But Gordon Brown needed the votes! Especially in Scotland!

  1. He’s going nowhere else yet. He has a million pound a year salary and a prestige job. His contract has no bonus agreement, and to quit now over a lca of bonus would show that he lacks committment. He was recruited to turn arounf RBS and his salary was set accordingly. He doesn’t need the money, but he does need to retain his professsional credibility by showing he can do what he was recruited to do. When he has done it maybe he could get some additonal reward. It is politically naive of him to demand his bonus when the vast majority of the population are do incensed by it.

    • I agree about showing professional credibility. But then he might feel it better to move on, if someone makes the right offer. I suspect we’ve not heard the last of it.

Remember the public feels that Sir Fred got away with it, so they are no heaping their ire on Hester, who was basically the plumber brought in to fix the leak.
