Russia And China Give Their View On Freedom
Russia and China have vetoed a resolution from the West and the Arab League to try to end the carnage in Syria.
But then what is going to happen, when their own dissidents protest? After all to Putin it would appear democracy is something to be manipulated for your own ends and the Chinese just feel it is not the right system for China.
Russian’s only military base in the region is in Syria – that the second reason Kremlin is so persistent. The first one, of course, are Putin’s “geopolitical” ambitions basically resulting in objecting every US initiative whatever it is. With Libya, for example, where the idea was driven by Europe, official Russian reaction was more mild.
Anyway that’s a disgrace, no second opinion about that.

Thanks Yuriy. But Putin doesn’t really seem to take much interest in what is best for his people. Incidentally, my late wife did Russian political systems for her degree thesis, but of course, she’s not here to add her view. Before she died, it was often at odds with most commentators.
