Celebrating Gay Pride
Yesterday, was London’s Gay Pride Day.
Some of the roundels have been changed in certain stations.
Should we see jaunty alternatives at other times or events during the year?

About This Blog
What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.

Depends who is paying. At present the world seems to be red and white – our Pride was a few weeks ago. These look nice; but I can imagine if it was generally allowed we would have issued with wholly unsuitable people wanting to take part. Even with Pride there is a the danger that right wing fundamentalists will retaliate, probably using Bible verses out of context!

The first time Transport for London did this was to tell passengers about the Night Tube. As Gay Pride tends to increase ridership, their idea might be just information, so that people who don’t want to be involved can avoid it.
I suspect that next year we might see a few done like this for the London Marathon.
I think that they’ve only done six stations in total and at those stations, there’s only a couple of roundels, so it isn’t a great cost.
But I wouldn’t be surprised to see businesses or institutions paying for their own roundels, if they are near a station.
You could imagine a tasteful dark green roundel at Knightsbridge for Harrods!
