Limach And Hyperdrive Partner On Electric Machines

The title of this post, is the same as that as of this article on International Rental News.

This second deal from Hyperdrive Innovation is with Dutch excavator manufacturer Limach.

This paragraph from the article is important.

The construction industry is responsible for 40% of European carbon emissions, making it an urgent priority for decarbonisation to meet net zero targets.

That is a lot of carbon.

  1. Most of the carbon is in the production of cement and steel though but it would be really good if the govt made legislation to require the use of zero emission plant on works in suburban areas to improve air quality.

  2. The article also says they’re quieter too, so can be used for longer periods. That must help the economics of the construction industry.

So as the equipment becomes available, I suspect construction companies will use it.

My second-hand experience of battery electric or mains electric equipment, says that it’s more reliable than diesel-driven.
