What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.

It is my view that London’s greedy politicians, by allowing planning permission for these buildings before Crossrail opened, delayed Crossrail, as these projects attracted all the labour.
Major projects all over the world have caused or suffered from labour shortages.
There was no planning in the GLA or in the boroughs concerning how many workers would be needed.
They did the c alculations with the tunnels and they were delivered on time and on budget.

Been interesting watching the construction of this and you can get a good vantage point off London Wall at the rear.

I know the area well, as I used to live in Cromwell Tower in the Barbican.

My great grandmother would have known the area too only it would have been a little different then, she was born in Whitecross Street in 1849.
