The title of this post is the same as that as this article on KentOnline.
Jo Bamford is quoted as saying that the first green hydrogen will be produced in the second half of 2022.

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.
I welcome this development.
However, I can’t help but wonder why this first plant is located in Herne Bay. That is a long way from Oxford where Ryse Hydrogen is based. Plenty of suitable locations closer to home.
Didcot is crying out for something like this.
Is this plant going to be noisy, smelly, dangerous?

Herne Bay has a lot of solar and wind power within a few miles and the site has good road connections to London, where the hydrogen will initially be used.
Noisy? I doubt it! But there will be trucks coming and going and there may be a few cooling fans.
Smelly? Probably not! The only things going in and out of the plant will be electricity, hydrogen, oxygen, water and the workers.
Dangerous? I worked in a hydrogen plant at Runcorn around 1970. It hasn’t done anything dangerous in the intervening fifty years.
In those days, ICI used to ship hydrogen all over the country by tanker truck and I don’t remember any reports of transportation troubles.
