The Camerons Get a Real Aussie Nanny
According to this report in the Standard, the Camerons have got a new nanny and she’s a real Aussie.
Interestingly for her employers, she admitted to shoplifting, smoking and drinking, but denied taking drugs “in the past month”. When asked if she swears, she replied: “f*** yeah.”
At least there’s no mention of sheep.
In some ways the most interesting part of the story is that the Camerons interviewed the nanny on Skype. I wonder how many of our Prime Ministers and/or their partners could have done that?
RBS, Donald Trump and the Dreaded Wind Farms
The more I read about Donald Trump and the wind farms, I just think how funny it would be if either the golf course or the wind farms had been all or part funded by the Royal Bank of UK Taxpayers.
After all something Sir Fred did is going to jump up and bite us, so when it does, it might be something with a good laugh in it.
A Clever Name
I took this picture of a van from a bus, as I went towards the Angel.
It always helps to have a good name for a business. www.damselinadress.co.uk is a good one!
Is The American Political System Too Complicated?
This article made me think. Here’s a taster.
Can a democratic system function efficiently in an advanced economy in our modern, globalized world? A system based, say, on a couple of 18th century documents updated occasionally by nine people in black robes and a two-chambered legislature that must devote at least as much time to the raising of funds to re-elect itself? I think it can—eventually—but not everyone agrees.
There’s a lot more of the same.
What Do David and Sam Cameron Not Do?
The answer is in The Times today!
Apparently neither of them wear a watch.
It also says, that they are not known for their love of trinkets.
On a personal note, C never wore a watch, but she did buy me at least four, including a Rolex as she was dying for my first Christmas without her.
The Weather Hasn’t Helped the Recession
I can only look at the London weather, but I don’t think that the first three months of the year have been very good. How has this effected the recession, especially, as figures show the construction industry hasn’t performed well?
I predict that the figures for the next quarter will be much better, if the weather pulls its socks up.
Scots Put Wind Up Donald Trump
I can’t say I warm to Donald Trump and I don’t think, that I’d want to be anywhere near his golf development, as it will probably attract a lot of the sort of people, that I find odious.
So I read the report about his spat with the Scottish Parliament with interest and a small bit of pleasure. I’m not really in favour of wind turbines and especially those onshore, but offshore ones, if the economic case is there are a much better option. Let’s hope he gets a nice line of pylons across his golf course.
Connecticut Abolishes the Death Penalty
About time too, but it’s here on the BBC
Jo Brand Has Trouble in Streatham
According to this report in the Standard, Jo Brand is in trouble with some of the things she said in Streatham.
I don’t think I’ve ever knowingly been to Streatham, as I do know it is south of the river and people born in the north of the city rarely cross the river without either a good reason or adequate precautions and preferably both.
Man Has Boris Tattooed on his Leg
Each to his own I suppose. But this?
