Newcastle Cathedral

Newcastle Cathedral would not be considered a large church.

Newcastle Cathedral

I didn’t get a chance to go in as it was shut.

Outside is a typical statue of Queen Victoria.

Queen Victoria Statue, Newcastle

There seem to be lots of statues of Queen Victoria, many of which have a very similar pose.  Did some sculptors do job lots?

A Lonely Horse

Or perhaps what a silly place for a statue!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

As you can see the building could never be described as an architectural gem, but what possible point was there putting the horse so far up in the air.

Perhaps, it can be seen from the Chairman’s office.

V-2 Sculpture in Den Haag?

Outside of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Den Haag is this sculpture.

V-2 Sculpture in Den Haag?

Is it a V-2 exploding on takeoff?

Because it is in the area that was devastated by RAF bombing, as they tried to stop the missiles.

John Betjeman at St. Pancras

There is also a charming status of John Betjeman, who did much to save the station from demolition in the 1960s.

The Meeting Place at St. Pancras

I like sculpture and I often think it is the dominant art form, as it can be placed in the open so that everyone can enjoy it.  The Meeting Place is by Paul Day and it is in St. Pancras in London.
