The New Entrance To Battersea Power Station Station – 7th October 2025
The new entrance to Battersea Power Station station opened recently, so I went to have a look.
Note.
- The first picture shows the terrible train indicators in Moorgate station.
- Comparing the next three pictures with the first, show how much better the lighting is in Battersea Power Station station is compared to Moorgate station.
- Someone had the thought to put up a sign to indicate the new entrance.
- The entrances are at opposite ends of a spacious ticket hall.
- There are lifts to the surface.
- Exit is direct into a parade of smart shops.
- The Leon is more upmarket, than their Hanover Square outlet.
- There is a Boots, an M & S Food and a Zara close to the new entrance to the station.
- There was a lot more greenery, than when I last visited.
I finished my visit by walking down to the river to catch the Thames Clipper back to London Bridge station.
Gluten-Free Egg Sandwiches From Boots
This morning, I had to pick up a prescription from Boots on Moorgate in London.
I use them, as they are by the 141 bus stop, that I can use to get home, so I pass their outlet regularly throughout the week.
After picking up my prescription, I looked at their small food counter. I was actually looking for milk, as I am out and nowhere on the West side of Moorgate sells small one pint bottles.
They didn’t have any, but they did have two flavours of gluten-free sandwiches; cheese and egg.
So I bought a pack of the egg sandwiches.
These pictures show the one, I have just eaten for lunch, with a beer and a banana.
Note.
- In the last picture, the Adnams 0.5 % Ghost Ship can, is marked with the gluten-free symbol.
- The only allergens noted on the sandwich packet are egg and mustard.
- The bread looks like it could be Genius, which is a brand of gluten-free bread, that I trust.
- The packaging can be recycled.
The sandwich was excellent, but then on past experience at the Tate Gallery and Blackburn Cathedral cafe, gluten-free egg sandwiches are a good combination of flavours.
So next time, I’m hungry, I’ll march into Boots.
Are Boots Marching In The Wrong Direction?
My family has used Boots at the Angel since about 1900.
But have they ever been so disorganised?
Yesterday, I went to pick up some Warfarin, which I have taking for a dozen years.
It must be one of the most common and cheapest drugs they dispense.
I needed both 1 mg and 3 mg tablets.
But they didn’t have any 1 mg tablets.
The pharmacist explained that Boots didn’t have any.
Surely, this is a bit like Sainsbury’s running out of baked beans?
Boots March In To COVID-19 Testing
There has just been an item on BBC Breakfast, where the Managing Director of Boots claimed that the chemists were rolling out COVID-19 testing.
Only hundreds a day at the moment, but the plans seem impressive!
