Where Can I Buy Ipswich Town Mugs In London?
As you can see from the pictures on this site, I have an Ipswich Town football mug. I have friends, who support other teams and now that I get my coffee across the road, it would be nice to be able to get their coffee in an appropriate mug.
So I thought, it would be nice to purchase some mugs. I searched for a place to buy an Ipswich one in London and there doesn’t appear to be any shop selling football mugs. Except of course, those for the Premiershits.
It looks like a business opportunity to me! It could also make a nice themed cafe.
I can at least get another Ipswich one today, but I’m in desperate need for one for Brighton, Hull and Sheffield United. Failing that, how about an official nPower mug, listing all the clubs in the Championship and Divisions One and Two!
A Real Takeaway Cappuccino
I needed a proper coffee, whilst waiting for my new washer/dryer to be delivered. So I took a cup over to EggsMilkButter and told them to fill it.
So I ended up with proper coffee in a real mug. They said, it was good for them, as they’d outsourced some of the washing up.
Was Half-Time Longer Today?
It was very hot and after the collapse of Fabrice Muamba last season, did the referee make half-time a bit longer today?
If he did, it was probably a wise decision.
A Welcoming Tunnel
I went to see Ipswich play Blackburn today. It was rather hot and I left a bit early to get in a nice cool First Class Mk. 3 coach early.
Ipswich station is just to the north of the Stoke tunnel.
Inside the tunnel, it was all very dark and beautifully cool.
My Most Expensive Ticket Ever!
I went to the Olympic athletics last night and I got some tickets for Thursday morning in the ballot. But I really wanted to see Mo Farah run on the last Saturday night.
I didn’t get a ticket in the ballot, so as I’ve finally sold my stud, I decided to try to buy a ticket for the Saturday night. But I couldn’t so I bought a ticket for the Friday night, to see some more finals.
I’ve never really paid a high price for a ticket and certainly, I’ve never paid over the odds. Although, I did buy an unwanted Senior ticket at Sheffield Wednesday for £10 instead of £11 from a tout at Sheffield Wednesday.
The most expensive ticket, I’d bought was one for about three hundred to see Ipswich play Torpedo Moscow in the Moscow Olympic Stadium. But I suppose it did include a flight from Luton.
I went on the official site and bought one for Friday night for seven-hundred or so.
Does that seem excessive? Probably at the moment, yes! But ask me again on Saturday!
Not A Good Result for Ipswich Town
Today’s Championship Play-Off result, which sees West Ham going up to the Premier League and Blackpool staying behind is not good for Ipswich. And especially, for those supporters like me, who live in London. We lose a nice away match in East London and it is swapped for a trip to Bolton, Blackburn or Wolverhampton. Only, the latter is a reasonable trip from London.
Outside of the play-offs, we’ve also lost Reading, Southampton, Portsmouth, Coventry and Doncaster. Only Doncaster, although they have a nice stadium, is a bad journey. At least we’ve gained Charlton, but it looks like we’ll get two more Yorkshire clubs.
Father and Son Footballers
They were talking about these on Radio 5 last night.
Perhaps I have a better memory, but the two pairs I know, weren’t mentioned.
Les Allen, who was in Spurs double-winning side of 1960-61, is the father of Clive and Bradley Allen, both of whom, had reasonably successful careers.
Roy Bailey, who was the goalkeeper in Ipswich’s First Division winning side of 1961-62, was the father of Manchester United’s goalkeeper, Gary Bailey.
