Where Do All The Teaspoons Go?

When I moved to London I had about a dozen teaspoons. I know I tend to use a lot in cooking, but I am now down to around six.

So where do all the teaspoons go?

I always remember seeing a spokesman for the cutlers in Sheffield on television, saying that the number of teaspoons sold far exceeds all other utensils.

  1. That reminds me of the 60s song “where have all the flowers gone?”. Perhaps you should blame the “young girls”. There is a German version which is typically more tutonic “sag mir wo die blumen sind” and translates to “tell me where the flowers are!”.

  3. It used to be said that they got left in washing up bowl and then went down the plug hole when the bowl was emptied…. Anyone who thinks spoons are to big should remember how little boys used to get their heads caught in railings!
