Sources Of Gluten Free Sausages
It looks like a friend may have a coeliac granddaughter, so as all kids like sausages, I thought I’d post this.
So here, are a few tips on the best gluten-free sausages.
- Marks and Spencer and Sainsburys only sell gluten-free sausages.
- Musks in Newmarket have a Royal warrant and make excellent gluten-free sausages.
- When I’m cooking Lyndsey Bareham’s sausage and bean casserole, I generally use Black Farmer sausages, as all that brand are gluten-free.
- Musks told me, that you should always use gluten-free sausages on a barbecue, as they don’t spit.
- German street sausages are gluten-free.
Happy eating!

Serial Cooking – Twelve Minute Fish
I’ve used this recipe for years, since I discovered it in the sadly-missed Dinner Tonight daily recipe in The Times, that was contributed by Lyndsey Bareham.
Note.
- I used haddock, but it generally works with any white fish trawled from the depths of the freezer.
- I always keep little pots of frozen peas and runner beans for one in my freezer.
- I have lots of pots and always split frozen peas up when I buy them.
- I usually cook it for one or two, but have cooked it for four.
- I’m a bit worried about getting the Carluccio’s olive oil with lemon. But I suspect someone else will supply something similar.
It can’t be too bad, as two friends have asked for the recipe. And they’re still friends.

Serial Cooking – Pasta With Yogurt Sauce For One
This is based on a Lyndsey Bareham recipe, which I cooked in Serial Cooking – Quick Pasta For One.
Note.
- There’s a lot of room for error and personalisation.
- I suspect it works equally well with Marks and Spencer’s normal pasta.
- It can be cooked in about ten minutes,
‘ve cooked it perhaps twenty times now and eaten it every time.

Serial Cooking – Chicken, Leek And Bacon Shepherd’s Pie
This recipe is another from Lindsey Bareham in The Times.
The main ingredients are a Waitrose pack of roast chicken thighs, 75g of bacon lardons, 500g potatoes and 200g trimmed leeks.
It was a very simple and good shepherd’s pie.

About This Blog
What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.
Why Anonymous? That’s how you feel at times.
