Brexit ‘no deal’ Means Britons Will Be Barred From Taking Pets To The Continent, Michel Barnier warns

The title of this post, is the same as this article in the Telegraph.

Doesn’t this say a lot about the vindictiveness, stubbornness and downright stupidity of those involved in the Brexit negotiations?

  1. Oh wow, I am really scared!! NOT. It’s time we followed Dyson’s comment – tell them to stuff it. Walk away and do not offer any money. They’ll come running as the eu needs us more than we need them.

    • I fear this is all going to end up in a tremendous mess.

A year ago, prompted by an article about railway signally in the Rail Engineer, I wrote this.

Dyson’s position is interesting. Some EU product laws seem to work against his products.

But could this be because of lobbying by big European groups, who don’t like disruptive innovators?

  2. IMO Davis doesn’t actually want a deal, so he isn’t negotiating seriously on purpose.

CBI, IOD, BCCI, FSB etc. are all screaming for sensible arrangements, but the diehard isolationists in Leave camp seem determined to burn our boats.

    • I don’t know about Davis, but I’m coming round to the view that a deal is impossible and won’t happen.

      Ireland is the biggest problem!

Brexit will be a disaster for some people! Mostly, unfortunately will live in areas that voted to Leave.

Remember, I’m a Control Engineer by training and we’ll find a good economic equilibrium with the EU. Water and money always find their own levels.

In perhaps ten or fifteen years we’ll be as fully integrated economically with the EU than we’ve ever been!

As to Davis, read the story in today’s Times, where Gove and Johnson are accused of interfering.

  3. The eu negotiators are being obstreporous, they have to make things as hard as possible for us. They have to ensure things go bad for us so they others in the eu get the willies and step back from attempting to leave too. If everything goes too well for us then others might just follow suit and the whole house of cards that is the eu collapses. The federalists at the heart of the eu are worried that this could happen. Under article 50 there is NO clause that says we have to cough up billions of euros, it’s just a tactic to cause us probs. This is why James Dyson and others say turn and walk away.
