Covid: Hackney Railway Arch Rave Attended By ‘300 People’

The title of this post, is the same as that of this article on the BBC.

This is the introductory paragraphs.

Police have issued more than £15,000 in fines after 300 people attended an illegal rave in a railway arch.

Officers raided an unlicensed music event in Nursery Road, Hackney, at 01.30 GMT on Sunday.

Sounds to me, that the safest way to handle this number of ravers, is to use a water cannon, firing smart water, so they can be identified for a couple of weeks.

  1. Well former Mayor Boris Johnson did buy some water canons but as Del Boy would say ” they weren’t just ordinary water water canons they were broken water canons …”

  3. Fines are a poor deterrent. Two years ago £623 million was outstanding in criminal court fines, it may be approaching a billion by now. Short sharp shocks would be better. How about a few months in prison for anyone attending a gathering (of any sort excluding those permitted by law) ? Plus a few years for those organising.

    • I would agree about fines. The trouble with prison is do we have the resources. Not the money, but the prisons and the staff to man them.

My father, who was a passionate anti-fascist and anti-communist, and his friends felt that the best thing was to throw rotten food like tomatoes at Mosley and his supporters, in the 1930s. Certainly that when the whole of the East End lined up at the Battle of Cable Street, Mosley and his thugs, did not pass.

Perhaps we should bring back the stocks?

  4. Apparently some countries penalise covidiots by making them dig graves.

That may not be practical, but having them atone by an enforced stand outside of funeral services, covid testing stations, and the doors of A&E departments, in purple hiviz with distinct markings might do the trick.

A bit like 2012 Olympics games makers but in reverse.
