The Shard From Below

I don’t like it, but from below, it’s impressive.

I hope we don’t see too many more Shards.

  1. We went up there and it was impressive. Not sure about paying £25 to go though. Anyway, you can now see it all in glorious HD on YouTube: http://youtu.be/VOcpAbN26_s
    ENJOY!

    • The video was impressive and enjoyable too! I am not going yet, as although I can afford it easily, I do like the cable car and that is very easy to book. I also don’t like how the Shard gets into every picture of London.

I did get one small surprise though. Alan Lee is one of those names that exists in both English and Chinese. I’ve even come across a footballer with that name. So I expected you were a British guy and you weren’t! Where are you from, as you posted to the Belgian YouTube site?

Have you and your partner done the cable-car yet? I do it most Sundays, so I can see how it is getting on! It’s wonderful on an evening with a red sunset.

The trouble with the Shard is it’s too expensive and I suspect difficult to book at times like spectacular sunsets.

      • Thanks! Yes, I’m actually British Chinese… born in the UK but ethnically Chinese. Yes, I know about the sports editor Alan Lee but the most famous one is the one that did the art for Tolkein in Lord of the Rings.

Not sure why the video is posted in the Belgium site – should be UK site.. where did you see that?

Yes, we’ve done the cable car.. got some pictures but should have done a video! Maybe will do it again and do a video!

Shard is expensive and I don’t think it’s worth it. Hopefully in time it’ll come down in price!

        Best regards

  2. Look at the short code for your video. I glanced at the link and thought the .be was Belgium. My mistake. I was also thinking about Alan Lee, who’s played for nearly all the Championship clubs.

The Shard’s biggest problem, is that you can’t do it on impulse and you have to book. And then you might pick an awful day.
