My First Chicken Nuggets
I am seventy and I’d never eaten chicken nuggets, until yesterday.
They didn’t really exist before I was diagnosed as a coeliac twenty years ago and I would now never buy anything like that from a fast-food shop, as I don’t want to be glutened.
However, yesterday, I received an e-mail from Leon to say they had finally cracked gl;uten-free chicken nuggets.
So I just had to go and try a few.
They were delicious!
Good quality ones are delicious. I mostly eat Schar Bread and they no longer have an online shop, so I buy it via Ocado; a couple of months ago they had some gluten free chicken goujons, which were also very nice. Cant remember the brand name. We had a shop delivered yesterday, and because today I turn 61, I added a “too good to be gluten free” pork pie. Not something I regularly ever ate, but every now and again a good one would make a special treat. It was excellent, very good meaty centre, not very fat laden at all. Had it with a bowl of tomatoes from the allotment. We are having a great year for tomatoes.

If you want to try Leon’s nuggets, there is a Leon in the entrance to Piccadilly station. Come out the front entrance and it’s on the right.
There’s also one in the Trafford Centre.
