Are East Midlands Railway Jumping The Gun?

The pictures show the Class 222 train, that I rode from Sheffield to London, after my trip to Huddersfield

I thought East Midlands Railway don’t take over the franchise until the 18th of August!

I suppose it’s only an interim livery.

  1. You need to read up on the franchise agreement before making stupid, ill informed comments…

  2. Its probably been done for the launch day. TFW did the same thing they had a 175 done in the new colours which went out in service from the 8th October 2018 but the franchise didn’t start till the 14th. Its was then used on the 14th for the North Wales launch.

Though this reminds me more of the South Wales launch train which was a pacer with a temporary livery which consisted of big black label saying “The Start of a New Journey” stuck on top of the old Arriva Green and Cream livery.
