Should We Have An Electronic Vote On Brexit?

We need to do something quick and radical to sort out Brexit.

Surely, if electronic voting is good enough for Estonia, it’s good enough for us!

Also if we can work out a secure system for Strictly Come Dancing and Love Island, we must have the technology for a secure vote!

Try getting that proposal through the House of Commons

  1. Would you trust a real election to computers?
I wouldn’t. Masquerading would be the easiest way to do this – I wrote and article on this for the Computer Fraud and Security Bulletin back in 1978.
Recently hackers have worked out how to modify display pages in a similar way to obtain US mobile network PIN’s.
You think you are talking to the real system, but actually you are talking to the hackers and they change your vote without your knowledge.
I wouldn’t object to electronic counting providing the voters were separated out like with cheque at BACS.

    • I wasn’t being totally serious, but Estonia don’t seem to have problems!

  2. The main reason I wouldn’t want an electronic vote is because there are still a decent percentage of people who don’t have access to and understanding on the internet. And there would be accusation of hacks flying around social media, the press and every single social group in UK.

And since most parties are coming out with stuff which I suspect won’t work and may even cause civil unrest I don’t know who I will even vote for when we do have a election!

  3. It would be too easy for a government to hack and change the result. Russia or China or even Hackers in the UK.

Actually perhaps we should I could make a lot of money.
