Graffiti Vandals Paralyse Island Line Service

The title of this post, is the same as that of this article on Railnews.

This is the first paragraph.

The Island Line timetable was suspended on Monday morning, after the only serviceable train on the route was sprayed with graffiti. Passengers were being diverted to buses until the graffiti could be removed.

I can’t understand the motives of people who spray graffiti and I hope that the culprits are found and given time in one of the Isle of Wight’s prisons.

  1. Better punishment would be to make the culprits clean off 100 items of grafitti by hand. Far more useful than wasting time and public money in prison and more likely to reduce re-offending.

    • I feel that would be appropriate. But the timing would be difficult, unless they were caught red-, blue-, purple- or green-handed.

They could always clean up someone else’s graffiti.

  2. The question begs, why is there only one serviceable train on the island?

    • They are on their last legs, as they are 82 years old. There are only two of them! They appear to be being replaced with five new trains.

  3. Teach them to be proper artists..at the moment hanging’s too good for them!

(See what I did there…I’m not a believer in capital punishment. And hanging is also too good for Banksy, as per his failed attempt at a self destructing framed painting/print.)
