Thameslink Is Back On The London Tube Map
The title of this post, is the same as that, of this this article on Ian Visits.
Thameslink last appeared on the tub map in 1999.
I’m glad it’s back.
I regularly use Thameslink as a quick route across London, especially, if I want to go to Tate Modern, as the gallery is a short walk from Blackfriars station.
The big surprise is its the whole Thameslink network within zones 1 to 6 has been included and not just the central part from Kentish Town tip Elephant and Castle and London Bridhe.
It said to be only temporary and to help with both the present pandemic and closure of city branch of Northern Line in 2021.
It’s a pity the Great Northern line from Moorgate to Finsbury Park ( at least) has not been included given this provides a useful route with cross platform interchange at Finsbury Park and cross platform interchange to Victoria Line at Highbury and Islington.
