When I read the reports of the mid-term elections in the United States, Putin’s War in Ukraine and Chairman Xi’s coronation as Emperor for Life, I despair.
As I suspect do many others!

What this blog will eventually be about I do not know.
But it will be about how I’m coping with the loss of my wife and son to cancer in recent years and how I manage with being a coeliac and recovering from a stroke. It will be about travel, sport, engineering, food, art, computers, large projects and London, that are some of the passions that fill my life.
And hopefully, it will get rid of the lonely times, from which I still suffer.

You missed out the damage to the Earth’s climate and the problems associated with the displacement of millions of people. Yes, you’re absolutely right to despair.

It all seems a huge mess to me. I don’t worry for me as I worry for my children – who are adults of course. I worry less about Truep because even if he gets i at that presidential election, he can only run for 4 years. No-one can have more than 2 terms as president – and I think that he in=s unlikely to get that overturned. The others however, worry me more, not least because of their lack of democracy.
