When Will The United States Realise That Guns Kill People?

On the wall of my office, there used to be a picture of my wife presenting a racing trophy to a racehorse trainer.

Both are now dead.

We fight cancer with common sense and all the tools that science has given us.

Isn’t it about time, that common sense is applied to the problem of guns in the United States and other countries where they are responsible for a high murder rate?

  1. Couldn’t agree more. I am amazed that individuals can buy automatic weapons, whose main purpose is to kill and maim a lot of people very very quickly.

Personally, I don’t see the need to people to own guns unless they shoot for sport.

  3. I agree completely. It is crazy. I have a friend in US, a nice sweet lady, a grandma, and she carries a small gun in her handbag. To me that is unfathomable. You can buy guns in a supermarket there. I don’t actually understand why anyone would actually WANT to own a gun.

One of my daughters has used a gun, in a shooting range, and enjoyed it – it was part of her job though, and she would never have to own a gun, or actually use one as part of her job – she is involved with military cadets.

I remember one day I had been at a beauty salon which offered fish pedicures, which I loved, and they happened in a room at the back of the salon. I walked out of the door to go around there and man walked past with a gun. I rushed back into the shop, trying to sound calm as I said there was a man with a gun out there. I had never noticed before that there was a gun shop next door but one to the salon, so the girls in the salon were amused. But I was completely shocked to see a man with a gun on the street.
