Manchester Oxford Road Station

Manchester Oxford Road Station, is that rare animal, a modern station with a Grade II Listing.

Probably, the most significant thing about the listing of Manchester Oxford Road station, is that there are few stations, built in the 1960s, worthy of any merit.

  1. It has definitely been cleaned up and tarted up since I last used it. Which is likely 10 or more years ago – it is handy for central library, where I used to go sometimes to do family history research. It has dank, dingy, dirty and smelt of cannabis back them. Although I think most of Manchester smells of Cannabis – the Northern Quarter is really bad, sometimes driving down Oldham Street, I can smell it in my car with the windows closed.
