France Stops Funding Homeopathy

The title of this post is the same as an article on page 31 of Thursday’s copy of The Times.

This is the first paragraph.

French patients, who use more homeopathic remedies than almost anyone else, will no longer have them funded by the health service after scientists deemed them useless.

The French have shown a lot of sense here!

  1. This is interesting – I havent personally tried any homeopathy remedies for myself. But when my girls were first teething the “in thing” to stop the pain and tears of sleepless nights was Homeopathic Teething Granules, The instructions described some daffy way of giving them to the babies, but we all just gave them one every morning. I can honestly say that they worked really really well, we had no sleepless nights with either daughter when they were teething. No idea what modern do about teething babies.

Some people swear by homeopathy, including the Queen and also her mother. Apparently the Queen takes a little box of the stuff everywhere.

But I agree that if people want to use it, it is up to them to pay for it. Half the problem with the GP level doctors who are prescribing it is that they won’t have a clue what they are actually doing when it comes to homeopathy.
