A Walk To and Around the Kingsland Basin

I walked to the Regent’s Canal this morning and took a quick saunter to and around the Kingsland Basin.

  1. Warmer than up here, the ducks would be skating not swimming! Even streams are frozen here, havent crossed the ship canal, but I gather that is also frozen in parts.

  2. Not sure if you could use a scooter on this tow path, as it is quite narrow in parts under the bridges. You’d perhaps be OK with a man in front with a red flag. There were quite a few people about this morning despite the cold and the early hour.

  3. I havent attempted tow paths yet, most of the times I could have done this year it has been too muddy. We have quite a few “linear parks” around here too, which used to be railway lines

  4. All the tow paths on the Regent’s Canal seem to be built to the hghest standards as they are used to carry london’s eletricity. In most cases you would seem to need a road drill and a gang of navvies to do any damage.
